After months of hard work, Galaxy Defenders production is complete and the game is ready to be shipped from the factory to Ares Games warehouses in US and Europe. The game is expected to be released in January 2014 - first shipping to its Kickstarter backers and then to distributors. While waiting, many digital items are already available and Ares Games and Gremlin Project just released the first app for download: the GD Tracker, for iPad can be downloaded from iTunes - an Android version is already in development, as well a Mission Editor app.

The GD Tracker app release follows other digital rewards created thanks to the support of the Kickstarter backers and available at the game’s official website – www.galaxy-defenders.com. In the Utility area, a mini-campaign with four bonus missions (in PDF format) can be downloaded, as well the cards and scatter template for Galaxy Ball.

Other resources online include the final Rulebook, together with a 12-pages excerpt from the Storybook, the small rulebook included with the Elite Alien Army expansion and the game variant Alien Mind, the reference guide, all the game boards, and the complete profiles of Agents and Aliens.

The Galaxy Defenders: Alien Mind variant allows transformation of the game into a competitive affair, with one player becoming the alien mastermind, controlling the alien army and cards in play. It also expands play for up to six players. The Alien Mind variant can be used for a single mission or for a whole campaign of Galaxy Defenders, and is suggested for expert players, as it may increase the game difficulty.

In addition to the digital items, Ares Games and Gremlin Project have published a photo gallery with the injection shots of all the plastic figures straight out of the production molds, showing them exactly as they will be in the game, apart from the color (in the pictures, they are in grey). The quality of the amazing sculpts created by Raffaele Stumpo has been totally preserved all through the production process. To see this gallery, click here.

Now that's the production is complete, the final items can be seen in an unboxing video filmed by the Galaxy Defender's authors, Nunzio Surace and Simone Romano. They opened the first copy out of the production line:
