Ares Games will be exhibiting at GAMA Expo 2022 (March 14-18, in Reno, Nevada - booth 415), the largest gathering of hobby game industry professionals in the United States, presenting the upcoming new releases - The Thing: The Board Game, Quartermaster General: 1914, Quartermaster General Prelude and Star Scrappers: Orbital - and other new games and reprints coming this year.

The Thing - The Board Game, the board game inspired by the 1982 cult movie.

The Thing – The Boardgame is an intense game experience for 1-8 players based on the 1982 cult movie, mixing different mechanics to create an experience faithful to the mood of the original film. It’s a “hidden roles” game, in which one player is initially the Thing and the other players are humans. The purpose of the Thing is to infect others, to prevent the survivors from escaping from the base (which can happen in three different ways), or to try to escape with them by behaving as a human. The game is due to release in April 2022.

Quartermaster General: 1914 is a new game in the Quartermaster General series that recreates the “Great War”, with mechanics reflecting the military, economy, and politics of the time. Another new release in the series, Quartermaster General Prelude is a fast card-driven pre-game that can be played to set the stage for the conflict of Quartermaster General WW2 Second Edition – which is required to play it.

Star Scrappers - Orbital is an engine-building, worker placement card game for 1-5 players, by Jacob Fryxelius, the designer of Terraforming Mars. It is an engine building, worker placement card game for 1-5 players. Based on his Space Station card game, this new version has been mechanically streamlined, updated and re-themed to fit the Star Scrappers universe - a space-western setting created and developed by Hexy Studio.

Diabolik: a “cops and robbers”- style game.

In the Retail Box, attendees will find this year a recent release by Ares - Diabolik: Heists and Investigations, a hidden movement game for 2 to 4 players divided into two teams, where the players play as Diabolik and Eva (the Criminals) against Ginko and Morrigan (the Detectives). This game is inspired by a famous Italian comic series, where this robber couple designs and executes heists, using disguise and latex masks to complete these daring thefts.

At booth 415, Ares will be also giving away free copies of another recently released game, Last One Alive, a fast and fun dice game for 2 to 5 players. Last One Alive is played in turns: each player rolls a selection of dice to eliminate the attacking zombies or send them toward other players. If at the end of a player's turn, any zombies are left, the player is overpowered and eliminated from the game. Last One Alive is fast-paced: the rhythm of the game increases turn by turn, as the number of zombies in play grows and they become more and more deadly for the players using the "Zombie Apocalypse" rules.
