Battlestar Galactica Starship Battles: 33 Campaign launches at UK Games Expo.

This year, Ares Games will be at UK Games Expo (31st May - 2nd June, Birmigham, booth 1-302) for the first time. For its debut at the UK's largest Hobby Games Convention, Ares Games will promote a massive event for its recently released Battlestar Galactica Starship Battles, a starship combat miniature game based on the Battlestar Galactica™ TV series.

On Saturday, from 9:30 am to 1 pm, Ares’ booth will become a galactic battlefield with up to 66 players fighting simultaneously for the launch of “Battlestar Galactica – the 33 Campaign”, a world-spanning series of events inspired by “33”, the first episode of the Reimagined series. The Battlestar Galactica and the rest of the Colonial fleet are relentlessly pursued by Cylons; 33 minutes after each faster-than-light jump, they arrive again, trying to exterminate what’s left of Mankind. All attendees are welcome – no previous knowledge of the rules is required, and participating players will receive exclusive promo cards and more. See more about the event here.

Cthulhu Mythos: second volume of the card game Monster vs Heroes.

Visitors at the show will also find at the Ares Games booth demos of two of the upcoming games by its partners, Galakta Games and Ludus Magnus Studio: a preview of the post-apocalyptic board game of adventure and survival game Waste Knights: Second Edition, and a demo table of the magical combat game Black Rose Wars, with the presence of the game designer Marco Montanaro. The last copies of the Kickstarter edition of Black Rose Wars will be available for sale at the Ares’ Booth.

Galakta is the publisher of This War of Mine - The Board Game, Age of Thieves and many other great games distributed by Ares in North America. Its new narrative-rich boardgame "Waste Knights: Second Edition" has been recently funded with a successful Kickstarter campaign, with over 4,400 backers. The game is set in a dystopian Australia half a century from now, inspired by cult movies and books of the genre enabling players to immerse themselves in a ruined world full of gangs, mutated creatures, sentient machines and – most of all – unforgettable stories. Waste Knights is due to release in 2020, and UKGE attendees will have the chance to play it at Ares’ booth.

Black Rose Wars: the magical combat game by Ludus Magnus Studio.

Black Rose Wars designer, Marco Montanaro, will be at Ares’ booth presenting his game, a big hit on Kickstarter in 2018 with $1,311,558 raised and 8,364 backers. In Black Rose Wars, powerful mages of the Black Rose Order strive to become the new Supreme Grand Master of the Lodge and acquire the mighty power of the Black Rose Artifact and of Forgotten Magic. One to four players will duel in a series of epic battles. Mages have at their disposal six schools of magic and can develop a unique strategy to annihilate their opponents and increase their power, using different and powerful spells.

The Kickstarter edition of the game features impressive and exclusive components, and a small number of copies will be available at the booth. Ares Games partnered with Ludus Magnus to publish the retail version of the game, due for release in 2020.
