Associazione Ludica Apuana (ALA) and Ares Games ran eight game sessions of Wings of Glory and Sails of Glory at the convention Carrara Show - Festival dei Giochi e del Fumetto convention during the past week-end (May 30-June 2). Players had the chance to engage in aerial and naval battles set in four historical scenarios. On Sunday, May 31, the author Andrea Angiolino was present and took part to the games.

For Wings of Glory, two scenarios prepared by ALA were played: WW1 "Young Eagles" - a reconnaissance and bombing German mission under attack from allied fighters, set in 1916, on the Western front; and WW2 "Aim High" - US bombers returning from a raid attacked by German fighters, while the famous Red Tails squadron steps in to protect them.

The scenarios played for Sails of Glory were "The Admiral's Revenge" - set in Cape Brest, North Atlantic, in 1810, and "Break the Blockade", with French and Spanish ships gather to blockade a British convoy intended to enter in the Mediterranean sea, in May 1812. ALA took to the event wonderful home-made terrain to create the gaming table.

The recently released Sails of Glory Special Ship Packs with the HMS Victory and USS Constitution could be seen, as well the prototypes of the upcoming "giant" bombers Zeppelin Staaken RV.I and Handley-Page O/400.

Ares Games thanks the friends of ALA for their support and Andrea Angiolino for the presence at the Sunday's game sessions, as well all the players who took part to the show. To see more photos from the event, visit the ALA's website.
