Lead and develop your empire in East Asia in two new civilization building games, spanning centuries of fascinating history. Mega Empires: The Far East ((North) and (South)) launch today on Kickstarter, with an initial funding goal of $ 25,000. These new epic games in the Mega Empires series explore peoples, dynasties, and historic developments from the easternmost regions of Asia, from Japan to Indonesia. The crowdfunding campaign by Ares Games, in partnership with Colossus Games, will run on Kickstarter until May 14th. Watch the teaser trailer.

Mega Empires: The Far East: two new epic games on Kickstarter.

Adding a fascinating new setting and new cultures to Mega Empires, with brand-new maps, fresh civilization advances, unique calamities, and innovative mechanics, Far East (North and South) are two standalone games, designed for low player counts (3-5), that can be combined into a larger experience for up to 10 players games – or even more, with previous Mega Empires games. The new games are compatible with Mega Empires: The West and Mega Empires: The East: using the The Silk Road expansion (which is also part of the crowdfunding project), you may connect The Far East with The East for games with different player counts, or combine all the sets in a grand game which can host up to 30 players around the table!

The Mega Empires: The Far East Kickstarter project presents five pledge levels:

  • The Far East – North / The Far East – South. The two basic pledge levels, at $79 (instead of $99 SRP), include a copy of one of the Mega Empires: The Far East sets at a special price, and all applicable stretch goals unlocked during the campaign.

    • The Far East rewards.

  • The Far East. This pledge includes all the essential items from this campaign, at $149: the two sets (The Far East – North and The Far East – South), all stretch goals unlocked during the campaign, and the Pirate Ships expansion ($20 value) at no additional cost. It saves $69 on the future retail price.

  • Road to the Far East: all the game content from Far East campaign, at $219. In addition to the rewards of previous pledge, it includes The Silk Road expansion and The Far East Special Buildings, saving $77 on the future SRP.

  • Treasures of the Far East ($380, instead of $497): this pledge combines all the new rewards of Road to the Far East pledge plus three sets of Deluxe Game Mats.

The project also presents a selection of add-ons that backers can add to their rewards – the expansions The Silk Road, The Special Buildings, The Pirates Ships, and the Deluxe Game Mats. The previous sets Mega Empires: The West and The East and its expansions and accessories will be available on Ares Games web shop at a special pricing while the Kickstarter campaign is running.

Mega Empires: The Far East is expected to ship to backers by January 2027 from Ares Games’ main warehouse in the USA and from secondary warehouses in Australia, Canada, China, Italy, and the UK. No customs charges will apply to backers in Australia, Canada, EU, UK, China and other Asia-Pacific countries, or the US.

This is the 16th project of Ares Games on Kickstarter, and the 15 already delivered successfully (Sails of Glory, Galaxy Defenders - Season 1 and Season 2, Age of Conan - Adventures in Hyboria, Wings of Glory - Giants of the Sky, Dungeon Time, Sword & Sorcery Immortal Souls, Ancient Chronicles and Abyssal Legends, Divinity Derby, Master of the Galaxy, Tripods & Triplanes, Masters of the Night, and Orconomics 2nd Edition) were received with very positive feedback from the backers. The latest project, Viking Route, is now in production and is estimated to ship by May 2026.
