Mist: a new character for Sword & Sorcery.

The Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design (AAGAD) has announced the 2026 Origins Awards nominees, and Ares Games is pleased to have three items among the finalists: Sword & Sorcery Mist Hero Pack, in the Miniature category, and Cthulhu Bay and Green Oaks, both published by MS Edizioni and distributed by Ares, in the Roleplaying Game and Roleplaying Suplement categories.

The Origins Awards are presented each year at the Origins Game Fair by the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts and Design, for outstanding games in the industry. One hundred twenty tabletop games, accessories, and other products have been announced as finalists across 12 categories for the 2026 Origins Awards, which will be presented on June 19 at Origins Game Fair in Columbus, Ohio.

Mist is the latest Hero Pack for Sword & Sorcery. Hero Packs are the most popular type of expansions in the Sword & Sorcery range, allowing players to choose their favorite Heroes, represented by awesome miniatures and specific cards. Mist adds to the game a divine warrior torn between fate and free will, playable as either a Death Guardian or a Necrowarrior, each offering a distinct playstyle.

Cthulhu Bay: Lovecraftian horror, innovative mechanics and pulp-style storytelling.

Cthulhu Bay takes a different approach on Lovecraft and his myths, a fertile ground for role-playing games. Developed by the indie studio Nigredo Press, published in English by MS Edizioni, Cthulhu Bay is a quick-to-set-up game, designed specifically for one-shots and without a pre-generated plot: not even the GM knows how the events of the Tale (the scenario) will unfold. Each Tale is a story unto itself, set in ever-changing locations, times, and situations.

Green Oaks, set in a haunted retirement home.

Green Oaks, created by Fumble GDR, is set in a small town where dark mysteries lie hidden beneath a seemingly calm surface. Players take the role of elderly people grappling with the paranormal events and disturbing secrets that will emerge during the adventure.
