TEDOKU, a clever “roll, flip, and write” game for any number of players, is now available in US game stores, and will arrive in other countries in the coming weeks. In TEDOKU, players fit polyomino shapes into a Sudoku-style grid - simultaneously and competitively. It’s a fast and rewarding game of logic, geometry, and careful planning, but still simple, ideal for solo gamers, families, and puzzle fans alike.
Players have a sheet with a 9x9 grid, and over 20 rounds they fill it accordingly with their dice rolls and card draws. At the start of each round, one card is flipped, and the die is rolled. The card designates a grid zone - a row, column, or 3x3 sector - while the die shows which polyomino shape must be drawn. Shapes may be rotated, mirrored, or both, but not overlap or go beyond the grid, and at least a part of them must touch the indicated area. After 20 turns, players score points for completed rows, columns, and sectors. The highest score wins, with ties broken by the fewest empty squares.
The game includes 50 double-sided sheets and more can be printed as needed thanks to the PDF file available for download from Ares Games website. A PDF file for the promotional mini expansion is also online, offering some variants to the standard game, adding an extra spice to the gameplay once players get familiar with the normal rules.
