WunderWaffen: multi-player strategy game set at the end of World War II.

Ares Games will be at PAX Unplugged (November 21-23, Philadelphia, PA, booth 3133) with two new releases – WunderWaffen, a strategy game portraying the last months of World War 2, and TEDOKU, a clever roll-and-write game. Three more new games will also be available at the show: Quartermaster General: South Front, Perfect Mismatch, and Dirt & Dust, published by Albi. Visitors will also have the chance to check the upcoming Altay - Seafarers, the first expansion for Altay - Dawn of Civilization. In addition to the activities at the booth, Ares will be present at the Lord of the Rings room with the War of the Ring game line, along with other Lord of the Ring games’ licensees.

Debuting in the US at PAX-U, WunderWaffen is a strategic game portraying the last year of World War II, when the Normandy landings paved the way to the occupation of Berlin and the resulting defeat of the German army. Through simple rules the game recreates the troubled collaboration between the Russian, British, and American Allies in the final phase of the war, and Germany’s desperate attempt to resist until the very end, developing new and lethal weapons. The game is easy to learn, but presents a deep strategic experience, where every choice matters.

TEDOKU: a clever “roll, flip, and write” game.

TEDOKU is the other brand new game at the show: a clever roll, flip, and write game for any number of players, combining the logical satisfaction of Sudoku with the spatial challenges of polyomino puzzles. It can be played solo or as a group, as players only need a pencil and their own record sheet. All players use the same inputs, placing shapes so that at least a part of them touch a specific area. After 20 turns, they score points for all completed rows, columns, and sectors. The highest score wins, with ties broken by the fewest empty squares.

Visitors to Ares Games’ booth will also find recent releases: Quartermaster General: South Front, the second title in the Quartermaster General "Front" series, a fast-paced, two-player strategy game that brings the Mediterranean theater of World War II to life; Perfect Mismatch, a fun party game where 2 to 8 players are challenged to guess words from a card, using an unusual association of attributes as hints; and Dirt & Dust, published by Albi and distributed in US by Ares, which combines deck-building and dice placement in a fresh take on rally racing that emphasizes control over speed. Players must assemble a top-notch support team, fine-tune their car to perfection, and make split-second decisions to conquer challenging tracks.

At PAX-U, Ares will present a preview of Altay – Seafarers, the first expansion for the deck-building, civilization development, and area expansion game Altay - Dawn of Civilization. Seafarers opens the gates to the seas, introducing three major additions to the base game: a brand-new game board, the Forgotten Sea, where players can establish harbors and expand their civilizations through maritime routes; new rules for shipbuilding, sailing, and naval combat, supported by fresh action cards and technologies; and Waterfolk, a completely new playable faction.

Gamers will also find at Ares’ booth unique deals and promos for games like Altay – Dawn of Civilization, Builders of Sylvan Dale, Aeterna, Balconia, and Mega Empires, and best sellers like War of the Ring board game and War of the Ring - The Card Game. The game designer Ian Brody, author of War of the Ring – The Card Game and the Quartermaster General game series, will be at PAX-U and players have the chance to meet him at Ares’ booth and in the Middle Earth room.
