The 2025 edition of UK Games Expo has come and gone, and we barely had time to process it! Shows are always intense and challenging, and especially fast-growing ones like UKGE, but the more challenging, the more rewarding they prove to be.
UKGE keeps growing year after year, reaching 72.000+ attendees this past weekend, and it’s making a name for itself in the international events landscape, and we saw it firsthand, meeting friends, fans, and colleagues from around the world. The show’s audience is not just international, but very diverse in age and gaming experience: Our “lighter” games were a great success, appearing approachable to all kinds of players, from newcomers, to families, and even hardcore gamers looking for something different.
Our releases Builders of Sylvan Dale, Balconia, and Altay - Dawn of Civilization, Galakta’s Snails, and Nuts Publishing’s Diluvium were extensively demoed and appreciated. We were also glad to see that our summer releases Quartermaster General: South Front and Perfect Mismatch, together with our upcoming Q4 games Viking Route and WunderWaffen sparked a lot of interest: Passersby stopped to have a look, and players were eager to try them for the first time.
One of the biggest surprises, however, was Aeterna’s incredible reception: Thanks to previews like Board Stupid’s UKGE 2025 Top Ten Games to Buy hype grew around it and it was highly anticipated; we sold out in the first four hours, unfortunately leaving many visitors empty-handed. Luckily, it’s now available for retail everywhere in Europe and in the US (ask your local game shop to stock up on it!) and, of course, you can always find it on our webshop.
Finally, we witnessed the 4th Battle of Birmingham, our yearly Wings of Glory tournament; participants all brought home boons and honor, receiving special recognition for their outstanding dedication and impressive feats in battle. Come back next year to sign up and get in on the action and the prizes!
All in all, UKGE was gratifying and fun, and we hope all participants found it just as fun and worthwhile. We thank everyone who visited our stand and the amazing team who worked with us. We will surely be back next year, but in the meantime you can find us at Gen Con in July and at Spiel Essen in October. See you all soon!
