The Galaxy Defenders campaign on Kickstarter has an important update for backers in the European Union. Ares Games has found a good fulfillment solution for shipping from inside the EU (Germany), which will have a positive effect for any backer living in a EU country, or asking for shipment to an EU address.

Backers living in the EU who have a normal (non-Worldwide) pledge don't need to do any change, as they already have freight charges included with their pledge. Those charges will now cover both shipping and VAT - Ares Games will take care of custom charges or VAT, and the shipment will come free of any additional taxes to pay.

For backers in EU who have a Worldwide pledge (or another pledge with free shipping, such as Armored Agent or Galaxy Defender), it will be necessary to add 10% to the pledge, which will cover about half of the 19% VAT - the remaining will be covered upfront by Ares Games. As the shipment will come from an EU country (Germany), backers will not have to pay any taxes or custom charges.

The Galaxy Defenders project will be funded on Tuesday, May 21st, and at two days from the end of the campaign it has more than $140K pledged and about 970 backers. Since the beginning of the campaign 26 stretch goals have been achieved, and in the homestretch 3 stretch goals can be still unlocked - at $150K, $160 and $170K pledged - and possibly more!

For people considering to back Galaxy Defenders on Kickstarter, several videos and previews have been posted in gaming sites and blogs, such as Rhado Runs Through, The Gaming Gang, SpeakGeekyToMe, BGG News and Dice Tower.

A beta-release of the rulebook is also available at the Galaxy Defenders website.
